The white background of the app heavily strains the eyes, especially when the whole device is in dark mode. It would be a relief for the eyes to have a dark mode.
Some third-party browser extensions might be able to do it, but again, people use different browsers (ex. it is more difficult to find an extension for Safari) and there is no guarantee that they will work 100%.
